The Boy

Jackson is learning and changing and trying new things everyday.

He loves dancing, making animal noises and having a good time! He's starting to slide down slides by himself -- although sometimes he has difficulty navigating them, as you can see.

But he takes nearly everything in stride...all in all, he's just a super happy kid!

New stuff

The past several weeks have been full of unpacking, decorating the house and getting accustomed to our new neighborhood. Jacks is enjoying a new Mommy & Me class -- Music Together -- which channels his natural tendency to bang on things.

With our new space, we've been able to add more exciting toys for Jacks to play with. He loves to crawl in his tunnel, play with his new train table and push his big fire truck throughout the house.

We've celebrated Mere's 30th birthday party with family and friends and are looking forward to trips to Sarasota for Thanksgiving and Baltimore for Christmas.

Oh, yeah. By the way, we're expecting Baby Codd #2. And just like Jackson, we are not going to learn the baby's gender until he/she makes his/her arrival.

Settling In

We are settling in to our new rental home. It's big -- 3 bedrooms with a two car garage. The home is on a lake and is in a lovely neighborhood.

There are a few growing pains but overall we're very happy.

We celebrated Carey's birthday 10 days after we moved in with a big breakfast, dinner and birthday cake.

Jackson is having a ball checking out the new space, visiting a new park and checking out new play gyms.

Oh, and his new thing is wearing our shoes around the house! Very funny!

Moving & Grooving

Our adventure selling our house, finding a rental home and actually moving has been one of the most stressful times of our young family's life! We relied on friends and family to help -- and are grateful for each chore, bead of sweat or bed they provided to us during this journey. We are blessed.

We are also blessed that Jackson has been a champ throughout the experience! He revels in exploring each new space and provides us with moments of levity and love.

We've been so busy getting this short sale done, finding a rental home and packing that we haven't had much time to blog.

But we are keeping Jackson very busy. Mommy and Daddy have taken him to the beach, museums, parks and tropical gardens. He is getting so big and creating a sweet personality. Here are a few recent random photos.

Swinging Like a Big Boy

This is one of the wonderful things about having children -- you never know what is going to make them smile, laugh or be joyous. At the park the other day, I started pushing Jackson in the swing from behind rather than in front. The results will -- hopefully -- put a smile on your face.

Nine Days of Bliss

We enjoyed a wonderful visit to Baltimore last week.

Jackson hit it off with all of his Maryland family members and loved his new adventures -- playing in new parks, dropping rocks in streams, seeing animals at the zoo, exploring several new houses, playing on a pool table, hanging with cousin Wyatt, eating crabcakes, tasting a snowball, playing a piano and having hordes of people watch him eat, take a bath and play.
